BERGERAC has joined many other towns in France by bringing in a mandatary face mask rule on market days in an attempt to slow the spread of Covid-19.
Anyone aged over 11 will have to wear a mask on Wednesdays and Saturdays, between 7h and 14h, if walking in the centre of Bergerac.
A large area of the town is covered by the new rule (see graphic below).
At present the regulation is in force until Saturday 5 September, inclusive.
With those who flout the face mask ban facing fines of 135 euros.
