CELEBRATE the Fête de la Musique 2017 with the recently formed local horse riding school, Les Cavaliers de la Bastide, on Wednesday 21 June.
A meal and disco will be hosted by the association in the salle des fêtes in Loubéjac starting at 19h, with the music set to start around 21h.
The meal is priced at 18 euros for adults and 10 euros for under 12s, and more information is available on 06 73 78 43 34.

AN evening of moules-frites and music is on offer later this month, set beneath the church at Loubéjac.
On Saturday 24 June from 20h, and organised by the comité des fêtes of Loubéjac, you can enjoy the classic French summer dish with a dessert and a drink all included in the price of 12 euros.
Advanced reservations are advised on 06 70 90 35 92, but if you can not make the moules-frites the disco and bar will be open to all after 22h.

THIS weekend provides an opportunity to learn more and discover some of the crafts farms and windmills of the French countryside.
The Journées du Patrimoine de Pays et des Moulins (JPPM), on June 17 and 18, will see close on 1,500 places open their doors to visitors, letting you see those places a little off the beaten track.

A SHORT walk in the early evening air is always a pleasure after a heavy, thunder storm threatening sort of day and when you spot a badger just ahead it is even better.
I had already spotted a few signs of grubs and bugs being dug up at the side of the path, and even heard the crunching sound of snails being eaten in the early morning, and there on a pathway in the woods was the reason.
The bracken quivering was the first sign of something beside the path, and as I slowed a flash of silver grey gave away the position of the badger as it scrabbled around searching for a bite to eat.
Following it for five minutes or so, at a distance of around 30 metres, I was able to watch the badger move smoothly though the bracken and bushes, before it ambled across in front of me and away into the chestnut trees and oaks.

The first concours de pétanque organised by the newly formed festival committee of the village, will take place on Saturday 17 June from 16h.
The competition is open to all and will operate with teams of two, costing 5 euros per person with a drink included.
A bar and snacks will be available, with the event taking place at the boulodrome in Villefranche-du-Périgord, which is found just off the D660 near the small pond in the village.
