THE always popular vide grenier in Prats-du-Périgord takes place on Sunday 18 September, with an official opening time of 09:00.

The lovely little village of Prats provides a stunning backdrop to the vide grenier and I always get the feeling that it marks the end of summer and the arrival of autumn in the area.

There is often the chance to pick up a bargain or two, or make a surprise find, with many stalls hosted by local villagers as well as those from a little further afield.
