THE journée champêtre, or country fair, here in Loubejac takes place on Sunday 15 May.
The day starts at 09h with an eight or 13 km walk for the active with a registration fee of 3€, who will be heading out at around the same time as horse riders (registration fee of 5€) who have a 25km route of their own through the countryside.
The fair is held beneath the church spire in Loubejac where stalls offering up flowers and plants, as well as an animal fair and an exhibition of vintage tractors and equipment will also be on display.
A mid-day meal is available priced at 15€ for adults and 8€ for children, and remember to bring along your own plates and cutlery to save on using plastic, throw away items.
The journée champêtre is organised by the comité des fêtes of Loubejac, and marks the start of a number of events in the village including a vide-grenier, farmers markets and a weekend fête featuring live music.
