Services operated by British Airways, Ryanair, Easyjet and Flybe were among those affected.
Ryanair said it had been forced to cancel a total of 96 flights on Tuesday, including some services to and from London Stansted, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Dublin and Bristol airports.
While EasyJet has said: "Despite the fact that this disruption is beyond easyJet's control, we will do everything possible to minimise the inconvenience to our customers. We will proactively provide advice for our passengers through our website, text messages and flight-tracker tool."
The strike action is expected to last until 29 June, so if you are flying to France in the next few days, then the best place to check to see if your flight faces delays is the airline's own website.
