MY local village, Villefranche-du-Périgord, will be hosting a number of theatre evenings over the coming months.
Now in its second year, the Festival de Théâtre Première will offer up the chance for a number of amateur groups to stage plays in the village foyer rural.
The plush seating and surrounds of the foyer can host around 200 people, so the theatre groups will have an appreciative audience and strong support form the local community.

The Foyer Rural de Tamniès Section Théâtre will be performing Le Père Noël est une ordure and Couple ouvert à deux battants.

Lus Gallapians del Ceou Le Pas du Fou Les Strapantins will perform various comedy sketches and a piece titled Louise.

The Les Janri Encor company will perform Scènes de la vie quotidienne.
Tickets are priced €4.50 per show and can be bought on the night, although you can buy tickets for all six shows priced €20 from the tourism office on the main street in Villefranche-du-Périgord (tel: 05 53 29 98 37).
The shows start at 9pm and there will also be cakes for sale to raise funds for the Entraide Cancer charity.
