LOW cost flights from Air France have taken off from Marseille as the airline looks to claw back passengers lost to budget airlines.
The French national airline launched its new budget services over the weekend, with one-way tickets starting at €50 inclusive of taxes.
The airline is offering 13 new non-stop routes in France, Europe and the Mediterranean from Marseille.
Non-stop routes from Marseille:
- in France: Bâle Mulhouse, Biarritz and Brest
- in Europe: Athens, Copenhagen, Düsseldorf, Eindhoven, Milan-Malpensa, Moscow and Prague
- in the Mediterranean: Beirut and Istanbul
- in Morocco: Casablanca
The move to target the low cost market forms part of similar plans at Toulouse, Bordeaux and Nice that are set to be put in place early next year.
