And the full notice (Circulaire N°DSS/DACI/2011/225) from the French authorities can be read below:A new circular confirms early retirees from Europe have access to the French health system, although not always on an automatic basis.
The guidance* states that, subject to sufficient resources and existing health insurance cover, inactive early retirees can be admitted to the Couverture Maladie Universelle (CMU) on a ‘case by case’ basis.

The French government's change of stance on their illegal blocking of healthcare to expats is welcome. But it still leaves many, like me, without cover. I do B&B - last year earned about 500 euro, this year even less, can't get other work here - "not qualified" to do housework for the elderly! - so have no medical cover of any sort as 100% private is too expensive. Just praying I don't have an accident. Yet if I wasn't working/paying into the system and still living in the UK, I would still be covered for NHS healthcare. We should all be given access to basic healthcare regardless of financial means.
