WALKING around Belvès, in the Dordogne, this morning and the excitement was building in the village before the start of this year's Félibrée celebrations.
Taking place on 1, 2 and 3 June 2011 the event recognises the history of the region through music and song, and it also sees the streets and shops festooned in flowers.
Parades will take place through Belvès, with traditional dress on show such as women wearing white bonnets and men wearing black hats.
There will also be an opportunity to learn more about the rural traditions of the area, and if you go look out for the park-and-ride facilities as thousands are expected to attend so it won't be possible to drive up to the village.
