WITH the news that France will be host of the Ryder Cup in 2018, how can you ride the wave as the promotion of golf increases in the country?
Le Golf National, found close to Versailles, will be the location of the competition and Ryder Cup Europe has said it has entered 'into a multi-faceted relationship' with France which will last a minimum of 12 years.
So you can be pretty sure that there will be plenty of promotion of golf in France, as well as elsewhere in Europe and the USA, but how can you prosper from the sport's appeal.
Your holiday home website is likely to be your first point of entry, so you need to ensure that you have webpages featuring local golf courses and facilities.
Individual pages could feature information on the different courses close by, whilst it would be great to write up a report based on an actual round, providing contact details, locations and on course facilities will be of help.
And don't hide these pages away on your site, make sure you link to your golf section from every other page on your site and use keywords in the descriptive text that people will click on.
Most keen golfers are likely to bring their own clubs, especially if they are driving to France, but it would be a nice touch if you have some smaller items like spare tees, cleaning cloths and detailed information in your home for people.
And don't forget to drop in on local golf courses to see if they are willing to offer a special deal for your guests, again it is another feature you mention on your website to appeal to potential customers.
With a little extra thought there is every chance you could extend your holiday booking season beyond the summer months by hooking into the sporting passion of golfers.
