PRESIDENT Sarkozy has outlined the economic path France is set to take after a meeting of ministers at his official retreat, Fort de Brégançon.
In a communiqué issued by Nicolas Sarkozy, the government has cut the 2011 growth forecast to two per cent and said that reducing France's large fiscal deficit was a top priority.
The President has asked the government to continue the economic policy introduced in 2007. The reduction in the public deficit must be achieved primarily by reducing public expenditure. There will be no increase in income taxes, VAT or corporate taxes.
