Around 50 ships are planning to sail into Dunkirk tomorrow, Thursday, May 27 with the Royal Navy expected to provide a support vessel.
And then on Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will be commemorative events around the town, as well as special exhibitions.
The Dunkirk tourist office website features an up-to-date list of events.
Ferry firm Norfolkline, who operate a service into the port of Dunkirk, are an official sponsor of the events and they have produced a .pdf guide you can download highlighting what is taking place this weekend.
For those who are not able to get to the anniversary events, then the BBC website offers background audio and articles about the rescue of around 250,000 Allied troops in 1940.
