AFTER a weekend of broken trains, Eurostar has announced it will commission an independent review into the problems it has experienced over recent days.
With all Eurostar train services cancelled today, Monday, December 21, the company has been looking into why its trains came to a halt as they entered the warm tunnels from the freezing weather conditions on land.
Thousands of passengers saw their holiday plans ruined with many Eurostar passengers left on the trains with only emergency lighting and few facilities.
The independent review will start immediately and be led by Christopher Garnett, former chief executive of GNER and formerly commercial director of Eurotunnel, in conjunction with Monsieur Claude Gressier who is Inspecteur Général des Ponts et Chaussées.
As for travel on Tuesday, Eurostar has said it will provide a further update regarding its services by 6pm today.
