A HANDY little feature has been launched within Google Mail labs that allows you to translate messages into English and a number of other languages.
It is a simple enough task to activate within your account, just click on the small, green glass beaker icon towards the top right hand side of your GMail screen.
About a quarter of the way down you can activate the service, and whilst you have to be aware that any machine readable translation isn't perfect I'm sure it will help a little.
This translation service in GMail sits alongside a similar option in Google's RSS feedreader, where you can translate news feeds that you are subscribed to.

"machine readable translation isn't perfect" is an under-statement. Think before using this feature for important emails. There are low-cost solutions such as OneHourTranslation.com that do the same thing, but with real translators. You get what you pay 4
