STAFF employed by a firm contracted to clean Eurostar trains face being fingerprinted when they clock in and out of work at St Pancras International.
The RMT union, which represents the workers, described the move by Carlisle Cleaning Services as 'draconian' and is set to ballot members on whether to take industrial action.
Bob Crow, RMT general secretary, said: "The introduction of routine staff finger printing is totally outrageous and further proof that our surveillance society is spiralling out of control. Carlisle Group cannot be allowed to introduce these Orwellian working practices."
