Health care may be available retrospectively

IT seems likely that a concession will be made to those people considered inactive, but registered with the French health system before September 30, to remain within the CMU and so receive medical assistance.

The Internet French Property website says that help may also be put in place for those with pre-existing conditions.

Up to date information is set to be issued to CPAM offices in the next few days, although people who have arrived in France after September 30, and are considered inactive, will still have to pay for private health cover.
