UNFORTUNATELY one of the reasons people struggle in France is because finding work can prove very difficult, even if you have strong language skills and experience.
A real problem is that the jobs that are available are usually scattered around between different government institutions so there is no central spot where you can discover more.
Hopefully the idea behind a new site that aggregates agricultural jobs from across France will be used as a blue print for others.
The site, which is overseen by the Ministère Agriculture et Pê, draws together agricultural positions, but also those in the forestry industry, fishing and jobs working in the countryside.
The Portail d’Offres d’Emplois allows you to narrow down your search via location, job type and type of contract, for example, temporary work.
The site also allows job hunters to post a CV and set up an account to easily contact employers and keep a record of possible jobs, and employers themselves can also post available positions free of charge.
