TAKING your hobby or pastime with you to France is one of the best ways to ensure you find your feet quickly and easily in your new home.
Whatever it is, music, sport or handicrafts, most groups will welcome a new recruit with open arms, something I'm sure the Spinners and Weavers of South West France would do.
Their simple and tidy website highlights the group's work as well as the monthly meetings that take place across the south west corner of France.
The group has been established for over 12 years and has gone on to boast an international membership including people from France, England, Germany, Holland and Wales.
And the group doesn't stop at just spinning and weaving, with felt making, embroidery, dyeing and knitting also practised.
There is always something you can do to help establish yourself and ensure you don't feel as though you are on the outside looking in.
