FRANCE has been a haven for jazz musicians for many years, enjoying great respect and adulation since its inception.
Jazz forms the basis of many festivals and events throughout the country and so here is a selection of what's coming up in the next few months.
Banlieues Bleues Festival, Saint-Denis (Ile-de-France)
The Banlieues Bleues, one of the biggest jazz festivals in the Paris area, is an eclectic, lively festival, featuring all kinds of jazz, from traditional to contemporary, European to American blues and soul.

Amiens Jazz Festival
Amiens (Picardie/Northern France): An eclectic festival that highlights the contemporary jazz milieu, this year’s program is devoted to the blues.
March 14 to April 1.
Grenoble Jazz Festival
Grenoble (Rhône-Alpes) hosts this two-week long jazz festival and celebrates its 35th year in 2007.
March 14 to 31.
Jazz Festival, Calvi Corsica
This celebrated international event brings together over one hundred musicians and singers, performing concerts within the city walls and on the streets of Calvi.
June 2 to 9.
