BY next summer the new TGV Est Européen line will link the centre of Reims to Paris (Gare de l’Est) in just 45 minutes.
The TGV line will link directly with destinations in the Ardennes to the north of Reims (Rethel, Charleville-Mézières and Sedan) and destinations to the south (Châlons-en-Champagne, Vitry-le-François).
A brand new station, TGV Champagne-Ardenne is to be built just to the south of Reims and a direct TGV from Champagne-Ardenne to Lille will link up with Eurostar services to London.
The service is set to start operating on June 10, 2007, and will offer a link to a corner of France few people often visit.
