IF you have been wondering where your money had been going over the past couple of months then the latest price index may provide a pointer.
The national statistics institute INSEE has released figures for November showing that prices have risen by 1.4 per cent over the past twelve months.
One of the main causes of the increase has been the rise in price of foodstuffs, which have shown the steepest increases in the past month and compared to the this time last year, food prices have risen by 2.3 per cent.
The price of manufactured items has fallen over the past year and energy costs have risen by 0.2 per cent in twelve months.
INSEE has also put together an interesting comparison of prices in different sized shops, from larger stores through to hypermarkets.
