RYANAIR has been voted the worst airline by travellers who complained of poor seating, unfriendly staff and delays.
And the Irish low-cost airline was joined at the bottom of the pile by easyJet, according to the survey by TripAdvisor.
Ryanair laughed off the findings saying they expected to carry 42 million people this year, "so we must be doing something right".
The TripAdvisor poll asked a variety of other travel related questions, with respondents saying Heathrow was the world’s worst airport, the threat of terrorism still hung over travellers and that Ayr, on the west coat of Scotland, is set to be a holiday hotspot.
Forty-three percent of travellers said that when on holiday they would like to go hiking, up from a quarter a year ago, and 39 per cent intend to partake in adventure activities (such as parasailing and white water rafting), up from 29 per cent last year.
More women than men plan to participate in outdoor activities in 2007 according to the survey.
