IF you are looking for a bit of an ‘Arthur Daly’ style deal on property then I may have something that could interest you.
Then again what about the odd motorcar, some kitchen equipment or even a small aeroplane?
These are just some of the items you will find on the Ventes Domaniales website which brings together items being sold by the French government.
Some of the properties are former state offices and buildings, but you will also find smaller homes and parcels of land.
And if you are looking for a deal on a car or a range of other items, including a small Socata aircraft, then there is a list of things up for sale across France.
Many of the sales are by auction, which take place in most of the major towns and cities, whilst some items are available via closed bids.
Unless you have a good understanding of the sales it would most probably be worthwhile visiting one or two of them to learn how they work, and any additional fees involved.
But you never know, you could soon pick up a bit of a deal and it could have quite literally ‘fallen off the back of a lorry’.
