I WROTE briefly a few days ago about a website that allows holiday home owners the chance to exchange properties to experience other parts of the world.
SwapandStay is a simple contact service that puts owners in touch with each other who can then work out suitable dates so that a swap can be made.
The site normally charges a registration fee, but at the moment it is free, and is open to holiday homes only, no residential properties or time-shares can be registered.
Once registered you are asked to supply a description of your property, you could use the text off your current website, and also state the average prices you charge.
This is used to allow people to come to a financial arrangement should there be a major difference between the two properties about to be swapped.
There is no need for the swaps to take place at the same time, so you could easily use it to visit places out of season, whilst your swap partner could drop in on your place at a quieter time of year.
And it is possible to register all types of holiday property, from ski chalets, cottages, cabins, even yachts and mobile homes.
So you could exchange a week in a Languedoc villa for two weeks in an apartment in Florida, a week in a ski chalet in the Alps for a week on a yacht in Greece.

This site came out with a thought provoking idea. It is better to exchanged or shared instead of buying. This will cost less and will save the time of individual who are in search of place in a new region or area. As this site is free to registered it really made the difference and will save from the paper work.
