AS the cost of oil increases across the world its impact is felt at the petrol pump and in the cost of heating your home.
Being able to plan ahead and forecast the price may help you out and a French government website could offer you some advice.
The Finance Ministry has put together a database of fuel prices for both petrol and domestic heating that you can check by date.
For example, taking a look at the cost of fuel for the home shows that the average price in April for 100 litres was €40.85.
However, shoot forward a few months to September and the price had gone up to €51.58.
The figures used are updated every week and it is possible to go back a number of years and although the movement in oil prices has been exceptional recently, the site will provide you with an idea of the rate you should be paying.
