Is there away of buying a second property in France , that will enable me to avoid paying large taxes if at sometime in the future I want to sell the first property.

Craig McGinty

Hi Jon

Thanks for your message.

I think your property will be considered a second home so is likely to face capital gains tax.

Specialist tax advice from someone like

http://www.siddalls.net/

http://www.sykesanderson.com/

should be sought.

Hope this helps.

Hi Craig - I agree - laymyhat is an amazing source of help for vacation rental owners. You always get a good mix of responses when you ask for a website review and the members put in a lot of time helping others.
