ONE of the most well-known price comparison sites shopping.com has opened a French based version.
Their site promises to make it easier to compare and buy products regardless of differences related to geography, language or price.
Retailers on the site include clothing merchant La Redoute, electronics specialist Pixmania, Apple computers and the wine merchant Chateauonline.
Approximately 20 percent of the offers available to consumers in France are from merchants in foreign countries and that number is expected to nearly double by the end of the year.
Taking a look around the site and it is very similar to their existing UK and US based versions, with clear graphics and prices.
I priced up an MP3 player and was offered a number of stores who had them in stock and with one click you are at the retailer’s website.
But the great problem with these sites is that they are up against the power of eBay, where I know I could buy something similar for quite a bit cheaper.
