THE Germans and the British are the biggest spenders on holidays abroad claims a recent report.
In 2003 German tourists spent £39.2 billion on foreign holidays and leisure travel, followed by Britons who spent £28.8 billion.
People from these two countries spent more than their counterparts in Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Spain, Denmark and Ireland – combined.
The EU’s statistical office, Eurostat, published the report and they also found that Spain earns more that £25billion from tourism, with France in second place.
