THE course for the 2005 Tour de France has been announced and it features a route that starts in the Vendee region.
The classic race which will take place from July 2 – 24 will start in the west of France before heading across the country to the German border.
Then there is a flight transfer from Mulhouse to Grenoble when the route takes in the Alps and heads around the south coast via Montpellier before heading into the Pyrenees.
After the mountain stages the race goes through Pau, onto Albi and up into the Massif Central with some gruelling stages as well as a time trial close to St Etienne.
With a train transfer from the centre of France to Paris the race comes to its grand finale in the capital, and will Lance Armstrong have the yellow jersey on his back?
