IF you have built up your holiday home there is a simple way you can use that experience to promote your website.
Every day people turn to the internet to find information and hints and tips on moving to France.
And it is easy to find these people and offer simple advice if you take the time to drop in on message boards connected to all things French.
Many websites host these meeting places, or forums, to attract people to the site and ensure they return again and again.
On them you will find a range of questions from problems about schooling, DIY worries and requests for information about events taking place in France.
And this is where you come in and use your experience and first hand knowledge to help these people.
For example, if you see a question about buying a car in France and you can provide details about the carte grise and insurance tips then write a short reply.
Then when you sign off with your name underneath include a short line about your gîte website and a link to it.
Nothing over the top otherwise the people who oversee the message board might think you are trying to profit from the service.
Some sites will ask you to register before you can post a reply but it is often nothing too arduous, whilst on others you can start writing straight away.
But if you are able to answer a couple of questions every few days then your site will be in front of a growing number of people.
And one other advantage of this technique is that search engines will register the link to your site, which is a little added bonus.
Below are a few sites with message boards, see you there!
