Janouille la Fripouille has made his escape from Monflanquin to join the locals and visitors at the fair taking place in the village on Monday 8 May.
The village jester is sure to lead a crowd of children and people around Villefranche as he tells tall tales and performs jokes and japes on innocent bystanders throughout the day.
The spring market itself will host around 80 stall holders and expect many local treats to entice the taste buds, and as is fitting for this time of year many flower sellers will be on hand with plants and seedlings to get your own garden off to a strong start.
Also marking the armistice of 8 May 1945 a small ceremony of remembrance will be held outside the mairie of Villefranche-du-Perigord starting at 11h30.
