A DETAILED online database of medical and drug information has been launched by the health minister, Marisol Touraine.
The website, medicaments.gouv.fr, lets you search by the name of the drug, or by its constituent parts, and provides a variety of information.
Users are able to find out what effects different medicines have, as well as possible side-effects, recommended use and any precautions that should be taken, but also manufacturer names.
There is also information on the price of drugs and medicines as well as the reimbursement amounts applicable to products through l'Assurance maladie system.
I believe that this is a positive step in the drive to see Patients as the First Partner in their own health care.
