RESIDENTS of a street in Agen have decided they can wait no longer for the local authorities to sort out parking problems in the area.
Rubbish collection on the narrow street was not being done as the dustbin lorry could not get down it due to badly parked cars.
And although local councillors knew of the problem, residents ran out of patience and built a number of large, soil-filled planters themselves, placing them on the street.
Quickly the road parking problem came to an end, enabling the refuse collectors to get on with their job, and forcing the local deputy mayor to admit how effective the solution was saying he would look to see if it was possible to legalise the planters.
