Sarkozy faces questions over funding of opinion polls
THE anti-corruption group Anticor has lodged a complaint against Nicolas Sarkozy for using taxpayers money to pay for opinion polls.
In their complaint, Anticor say that the polls were for private purposes and that contracts for their compilation were handed to acquaintances of Nicolas Sarkozy.
Anticor lodged a complaint against Sarkozy in 2010 but it was blocked because he enjoyed protection due to his presidential immunity.
But since his defeat in the presidential elections in June, he has faced investigations into corruption and campaign financing violations and police searched his office and home in July.
