Man found dead in his bed after 15 years

A MAN has been found dead in his house in Lille with the authorities believing he died in 1996.

The police say the man, who was born in 1921 and originally from Spain, was found in his bed, still in his pyjamas, although the body was in a skeletal state.

Documents and post dated from 1996 were found in the property and the police say there was no sign of forced entry or disorder in the house which was in the Vieux-Lille area of the city.

The body was discovered after local council officials visited the property to say that work was due to be carried out because it was in such a poor condition.
