Jump aboard Capitaine Train when booking tickets
A NEW website promises a smoother journey when booking train tickets in France.
Called Capitaine Train it is an online, French language ticket booking service for SNCF, and Deutsche Bahn, that promises a clean, easy to understand online experience.
It is officially recognised by both train companies, and aims to offer a solution to passengers who struggle with the existing online train ticket service that can be confusing and is far from easy on the eye.
Once you have registered for an account you can choose your route and you are provided with the train times and prices available, either book there and then or keep the details in a digital wallet for a short period, until you are ready to book.
Capitaine Train is definitely a sight for sore eyes, especially if you have used the official SNCF website, as it offers a minimalist appearance and quickly processes your requests.
You've just got to hope SNCF does not cherry-pick the best bits and offer an improved service itself.
Can't say I agree with the site harvesting personal details before allowing you to even have a look around... :-(
But then again I have never had a problem using voyages-sncf.com
