My Ferry Link website offers ticket bookings and timetable
EARLIER today I wrote about the start of the My Ferry Link between Dover and Calais, and how there was a very basic one page website.
Well the official My Ferry Link website now has a link enabling passengers to book tickets via the web and it is uncannily similar to the Sea France site that closed down following that company's demise earlier this year.
In fact it still uses the seafrance.com domain name, with mention of the old company now updated with the My Ferry Link name and offering prices starting from £35 each way.
A quick check of crossings for Wednesday August 22 for two adults with a car, and returning a week later, shows a price of £119.
The My Ferry Link service promises 'fair fares, fair conditions and minimal small print' and this is promised by just offering two ticket types.
The first is a My Basic fare, which is the best price available, but should you need to change departure times then you face an additional £10 fee and possibly an excess.
A more flexible My Choice fare is priced £10 which enables you to amend the date or time of your crossing, but again an excess fee may be charged and no refunds are applicable when tickets are cancelled within 24 hours of departure.
Passengers arriving at Calais and Dover will be directed to the My Ferry Link check-in booths and go through the expected procedures, and cyclists will be able to walk their bike up the ramp on to the ship.
