EasyJet confident it will beat strike by pilots

Easyjet aircraftEASYJET has said it is confident that it will be able to maintain its flights in France and not be affected by strike action by its French pilots.

The pilots have planned three days of strike action during this week's Assumption bank holiday, with protests set for August 15, 17 and 19.

However, in a statement easyJet has said that its pilot numbers are made up of only a small percentage based in France, and so will be able to handle the stoppages.

The French pilots are looking for a pay increase and bonus following a strong third quarter report where easyJet predicted a profit before tax for the year ending September 30, 2012 of being in the range of £280 million to £300 million.

Passengers are being advised to check the easyJet website for the latest information.

And should EasyJet one day make a loss, would the pilots ask for a cut in their pay?
