FRANCE has a long history of aeronautical endeavours with airfields dotted around the country.

And during the summer months there are many airshows and events where fans of flight can see rare aircraft, acrobatic teams and take in the atmosphere.

Light Aircraft Meeting, Blois - Le Breuil
Around 900 amateur aircraft owners are expected at one of the most popular meets in France, there are also workshops, conferences, special events for children and 40 exhibitors.

From their base airport at Amboise - Dierre pilots take trips out to various points to discover new corners of the region.

Tour Aviation Ultra Légère Motorisée
Ultra light aircraft take to the skies and take a route around the north eastern corner of France.

Belves Airshow, Dordogne
A popular show that draws many visitors will give people a chance to try out a flight simulator, check out some of the aircraft on show and watch acrobatic aircraft twist and turn in the sky.
