Condor Ferries ticket sales open for summer 2012

Condor-ferries-st-maloTHE digital doors are open for ticket sales on Condor Ferries for its network of routes between the UK, France and the Channel Islands.

Bookings can be made for crossings from April right through until the end of October 2012, for routes to western France from Poole, Weymouth and Portsmouth.

Interestingly Condor Ferries is going to have to juggle its crossings due to the Olympic Games taking place next year.

Simon Edsall, managing director of Condor Ferries, said: "The world’s biggest sporting event, the Olympics, takes place in the UK next summer and Weymouth, traditionally one of two UK ports our high-speed ferries travel to, is hosting the Olympic sailing regattas.

"We recognise that sailing to Weymouth will pose some challenges to our ferries and passengers during the Olympics and have adapted our plan accordingly.

"In order to maintain the best possible service to the Island during this time, we have therefore increased the number of sailings to Poole during the Olympic and Paralympic Games which take place during the busy peak season."

A quick check of prices for a family of four, travelling in a car, from 11 to 18 August 2012 turned up return tickets costing between £455 and £565, depending upon time of travel.

The other thing to remember is that you often travel via the Channel Islands, and you may face a long wait before boarding the boat for the second leg of your journey to your final destination.
