No movement on SeaFrance route between Dover and Calais

THERE is still no news on the SeaFrance website about the possible resumption of services between Dover and Calais.

Passengers are being advised to telephone +44 (0)845 458 0666 to speak to a member of staff, while P&O Ferries has added a sixth ship to its Dover to Calais service.

SeaFrance operations are able to continue until 28 January, 2012 after a decision from the commercial court in Paris, although a deadline of 12 December, 2011 has been set for the receipt of plans to save the ferry firm.

A union-backed workers' buyout and a proposal from DFDS Seaways, who sail between Dover and Dunkirk, have been rejected by the Paris court, with P&O especially keen to see that any purchase reflects the market-price for SeaFrance.
