Nestoria's tech brought to French property search
AN interesting new entrant into the French property marketplace is Nestoria, which draws information from around the web to help people find a home.
Established in the UK in 2006, the French version of the site, Nestoria.fr, has just been launched and it draws in property listings from estate agents, but also provides local details such as schools, hospitals and police stations.
The site attempts to rank the display of properties depending on the information available, and makes use of Google Maps to let people pinpoint locations.
One difficulty Nestoria admits to facing is the lack of detail provided by some estate agents in France, especially location as they don't want their clients poached, so it means Nestoria will sometimes not place a house on the map.
The technology and online skills Nestoria brings to France are markedly different to many existing property websites, and they already have a track record for working alongside major publishers like the Daily Telegraph newspaper, so they could establish themselves within a market ripe for change.
Hi Craig
I finally fixed my blog so that I could post a rant about the lack of locations in French Property ads! http://www.aude-france-property.com/france-property/2010/07/why-dont-french-real-estate-agencies-put-the-village-name-in-the-listing/
