SeaFrance may cut more than 700 jobs

SeaFrance logoTHE cross-Channel ferry company, SeaFrance, may shed around 725 workers from its 1,400 workforce as it looks to tackle growing financial difficulties.

The company faces a court case next week and SeaFrance has said the job cuts are necessary to reduce costs and improve performance.

SeaFrance faced a crippling strike earlier this year on its Calais to Dover service, and has spoken in the past of having to cut its workforce.

The company has yet to issue a press release on its plans, for a round-up from the French press see Google News.
