Likiwi lets you telephone your Facebook friends

QUITE a few readers of the site are on Facebook so you might be interested in the French-based Likiwi, which lets you telephone your Facebook friends.

Techcrunch France has written about the service, which is free for users when talking to each other through Facebook.

Likiwi makes its money by asking people to sit through a short advertisement before the call is connected, and users also build up credits as they use the service.

These can then be used to call landlines and mobile phones, and other services are available such as an answerphone and call forwarding to normal telephones.

Regular users of Skype will see the similarities between the two services, but Likiwi hooks into the millions of users on Facebook who are already communicating with friends via status updates, video and photos.
