Hi Craig,
I'm so glad to read this very exciting discovery, thank you. The other DIY method I was trying just isn't working, so will give this a go tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed. Still covered in the critters here!

I daren't attempt the water bag theory - I can see one of my naught children popping the bag over me while I work.

I sprayed fly spray into a piece of kitchen towel this morning and wiped it around the top of the screen ans the periphery of the case and...guess what - it works a treat.

I am concerned that this method might affect the plastic and of course I don't want to go licking my fingers but thus far, the fifty flies that gathered for their pooing session have gone.

Just the occasional one passes by now.

We have a gaurenteed and fun easy way of killing our flies,we have fly guns !! small plastic discs attached to a handle with cord that you aim, shoot & kill the flies, goes so fast the flies don't see it coming, all of our friends bought some off us when they saw ours and have returned for more for their friends also.they are so good i bought them in bulk so have some to spare at 3 for 5 euro + p&p. email for more info or ordering.
