IF you have an old motor that is slowly returning to nature then track down a scrapyard to help get rid of it in an environmentally friendly way.

Around 1.5 million cars a year in France are left to rust away, but through the Recycler Ma Voiture website you can find yards close to your home.

From the front page you can pick your département and this will take you through to details on your local prefecture website outlining the contact details and addresses of places that can help.

Yards shouldn't charge for the scrapping of a vehicle, as long as it is complete, but if someone from the yard is required to come out to trailer it back, then a fee can be asked for.
