French minimum wage increased

Bluefrenchlifeblock03040THE rising cost of living has seen the French government increase the minimum wage by 2.3 per cent, effective from May 1.

Around two million workers receive the minimum wage, or SMIC, which currently stands at €8.44 per hour, €1,280.07 a month.
