THE French Film Festival UK, now in its 16th edition, continues its annual celebration of le cinéma français in cities across the country.

The chance to enjoy the best of French film takes place from March 7 to 20 at venues in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness, London, Manchester, Cardiff, Warwick and Birmingham.

The film festival website features a complete programme of events and listings, as well as details of the cinemas hosting films and talks.

This year’s event features films by established directors, but also titles by rising film-makers.

There is also a selection of films that jumps in ahead of May’s 40th anniversary of the revolutionary zeal of ’68 by providing an opportunity to revisit a classic offering from Louis Malle in tandem with a rare documentary filmed at the time.

Only a handful of films will be on general release in the UK and so the festival will offer the only chance for people to see many of the best releases from across the Channel.
