Ryanair starts Marseille to Paris flights

Ryanair logoAN interesting move by Ryanair; from May it is to operate flights between Marseille and Paris.

It will be the first time the low-cost airline has ever offered domestic flights in France, and Ryanair claims it will save 60,000 French passengers around €6 million a year.

Ryanair has said that people have had to put up with high fares from Air France for too long and hopes its move will cut the cost of domestic flights.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow (March 20) and Ryanair is releasing 25,000 seats on this route, as well as a new Frankfurt to Berlin service, for €10 including taxes until midnight Monday.

In February, easyJet opened a base at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport offering flights to Biarritz, and next month it will operate flights from Lyon to Bordeaux and Toulouse (see Can easyJet open up market for domestic flights?)
