Adding Google Maps to your site

TflhayfieldIT has just got much easier to place a map on your holiday home website thanks to Google.

They have updated their Google Maps service so you can easily type in a location, zoom in or out as you wish and with one click have a piece of code to paste into your site.

You do need a Google account, but if you use Gmail, run Adsense ads or use other services you are ready to go Scrub that, you just need to first head to Google Maps and track down your location.

Click the marker to edit the details, you can add text, links and images, I've not tried video but I'm sure it would work, save it and then click on "Link to this page" in the top right hand corner.

You will be given two options, the embed one is the one you are after, if you click on "Customize and preview" you can re-size the map to fit perfectly.

If you want to change something you can go back in to edit the details, for example you can pick from a range of different icons, and once saved your published map will update.

Below is a quick example:

Thanks for this! I'll probably be adding these to my site!
